In a bid to facilitate effective health care delivery system in Sapele, the Executive Chairman of Council, Hon Chief Eugene Inoaghan on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023 led a team to inspect the Primary Health Care Center at Otonyasere.
During the inspection tour, the Chairman and his team observed that the roof of the Otonyasere Primary Health Care Center was in bad shape, it was leaking and needed immediate attention, the chairman immediately requested the council engineer to give an estimate for the re-roofing of the health center and commence work immediately.
Eugene Inoaghan also observed that there were other facilities within the health center that needed replacement, he immediately directed the HOD works to take inventory of such facilities.
"The roof of the health care center is in a terrible state and Sapele council will take responsibility to re-roof it and make sure that it is conducive for workers, other facilities that are bad will also be repaired as well".
"There is also need to fence the health center to secure the property and I have directed the council engineer to give an estimate of the number of blocks and what it will cost to fence the health center and put a gate. As soon as we receive the estimate, we will commence work immediately, the essence is to secure the facilities in the health care center, he told newsmen.
My administration is committed to improving the quality of health service delivery in every health center in Sapele Local Government Area and Otonyasere Primary Health Care Center is not excluded, he added.
The health workers were pleased with the chairman's visit and more elated to hear that he will be re-roofing the health center and putting other health facilities in good condition.
In the company of Chief Eugene Inoaghan during the inspection, include Hon Francis Okpigben, Mr Godwin Christmas, Mrs Mercy Igeyen, HPM and other council staff.
