Breaking News: Elume district gets new president

Elume district in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State has erupted in a euphoria of jubilation after Mr Felix Emuobonuvie emerged as the winner of the 2023 district election, conducted on Saturday, August 12th, 2023 with the nineteen communities which makes up Elume district participating in the electoral process.
The election was conducted to enable new executives to lead the district after the expiration of the tenure of President Samuel Ikoyo, who is expected to hand over to Mr Felix Emuobonuvie led administration.

In an election the community members adjudged to be free, fair and credible with eminent sons like Chief Julius Egbedi, Chief Dr Lawrence Pemu, Chief Lucky Ologbete, Duke of Elume, Chief Austyn Opubor, Chief Godwin Atose, Hon Francis Okpigben, Hon Festus Pemu, Hon Goodluck Arimitan, Hon Stanley Eta Eshanomi, Hon Samuel Azu, Hon Clifford Ishuni, Hon Philo Asamah Obro, Hon Festus Oyibo, Hon Eric Ojirhomu, Hon Efe Mafuru, Hon Smart Idolor, Hon Morrison Ikoyo, Hon Excellent Avwigborighe, Hon Solomon Aligba, Hon Smart Eru and other dignatries standing as participants and witness, Felix Emuobonuvie and others were declared winners of the 2023 district election.
Some of the officers elected unopposed and entrusted with the mantle of leadership at an election that attracted the entire residents of Elume district and great personalities from different walks of life were Mr Felix Emuobonuvie emerged as President, Mr James Ejor as Vice President,  Mr Tennyson Akpofunure  Secretary General, Mr Godstime Financial Secretary, James Otaroghene Assistant Secretary, Abel Akpobasa Auditor, and Mr Oluwasa, Disciplinary Officer.

Former President of Elume district, Hon Francis Okpigben who took turns to speak congratulated the winners of the election.
Winner of the recently conducted election, Mr Felix Emuobonuvie who could not bottle his joy said that his administration would be unique. "I will endeavour to carry everyone along, and ensure that the people that I represent are happy".

I thank you all for finding me worthy of this position by given me your votes. With the confidence that you have reposed on me, I shall not let you down, he added.

The handing over ceremony from President Samuel Ikoyo administration to the Felix Emuobonuvie led administration is expected to hold on September 14th, 2023.
