Engr. Joe Omene Criticizes E.K Clark Attacks on Okowa

Former Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) President General Chief Joe Omene has criticized Chief E.K. Clark recent attacks on former Delta State Governor Sen Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa.
In a press statement dated Sunday, June 18th, 2023 Joe Omene urged Clark to assume the role of an elder statesman and engage in constructive criticism rather than calling for the slaughter of leaders.
Th Justice of Peace said that Clark's constant call for violence are not befitting of a fatherly figure and that there is a need for unity in the face of challenges.
He highlighted the examples of other elder statesmen like Abdulsalami Abubakar and Yakubu Gowon, who played a role in building the nation without resorting to violence.
The Mosogar High Chief also highlighted Clark's history of conflicts and feuds, including former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Elder Godsday Orubebe, former Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan, and Pere Charles Yemibotu. He said that Clark's tendency to target and humiliate leaders is divisive and detrimental to the development of the Niger-Delta region.
Omene questioned Clark's claim of being a saint while branding everyone else as corrupt. He urged Clark to reflect on his own actions and the wealth he has accumulated over the years.
He also alleged that Clark would not have called for Okowa's investigation if he had received patronages and billions of Naira for his university.
He said that he holds no personal grudge against Okowa and that unity and constructive engagement are crucial for the growth and progress of Delta State. He urged Clark to consider returning any fund he received from governments and governors to the EFCC, highlighting the need for integrity and accountability.
