As May 29 continue to inch closer for Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori the Delta State Governor Elect to take over the affairs of the state, Sapele residents have not stop talking about the effects and good deeds of the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman, Olorogun Barr Kingsley Esiso.
Chief Julius Egbedi, one of the political bigwig in Sapele, whose immense contribution during the last election was instrumental to the victory of the PDP in Sapele, having brought in massive votes from the Elume axis and environ said that Esiso has many good side.
The name Esiso has become a household name in Delta State Politics, having successfully led the party to victory for two tenure. He worked tirelessly in the last election, moving from one local government area to another with the Delta State Governor Elect to ensure victory for the Okpe people, Egbedi said.
His closeness to Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa has been more beneficiary to Sapele residents as can be seen in the number of road projects that he attracted and the numbers of political appointment that he brought to members of the party, Egbedi added.
Esiso proudly called Esisoites by his followers has not only touched but changed lives, and like one of his followers, Hon Nasiru Ado described him, Esiso has brought life to a people who has been forgotten politically, before this dispensation.
The astute born Politician cum lawyer, a Sapele breed and bought up has brought development to the timber town in both human and capital developments and his impact can be felt everywhere, Hon Francis Okpigben said.
"One of the key areas, Esiso focused on as the Delta State PDP chairman of the ruling party was human capital development. "He believed that the key to sustainable development was the upgrade of the people, and he made significant efforts to invest in education, and job creation" another follower of Esiso who identified himself as Paul Ego Ogheneochuko said.
Ego Ochuko, Special Assistant on Community Development to the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, described Esiso as a leader who wanted everyone to rise with him. "I remembered how Sapele was down and you could hardly see one or two appointments from the political elites, but when Olorogun Esiso rose to the position of the PDP state chairman, everyone felt the positive vibes. You can feel the pulse and as I speak to you today everyone can equally feel the difference"
Proudly called Oruese after his chieftaincy title, Hon Richard Randy Okotie another political juggernaut who took the gospel of PDP and Sheriff Oborevwori to every nook and cranny of Sapele also spoke on the good deeds of Esiso, while observing that the rating of Esiso in terms of delivery of democratic dividends despite not being the governor of the state is very high and that he was indeed a blessing to Sapele.
"My rating of the state chairman is very high, Randy said. High in the sense that, he has done a lot for the town since his assumption into office, the appointment for party faithful is one of his antecedent that cannot go unnoticed, he said.
"The impact of the state chairman is being felt in all parts of the town. He came into office as the PDP State chairman at a time when we were begining to lose hope in those representing us Malcolm Tagbarha a political appointee, Special Assistant on Community Development to Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa said. But as a man with a vision and on a mission, he has used his closeness to the Governor efficiently and we are seeing things we have never experienced before.
I will rate him very high with Governor Okowa because we have a working governor at the helm of affairs who has been able to understand the plight of the people, things has been working reasonable well with Barr Esiso as the State PDP chairman, Hon Stanley Kogoro a sitting Councilor said"
Prodded further whether Esiso has made impact in the area of infrastructural development, Chief Benson Okorodudu made reference to some of the roads that Esiso has influenced in Sapele, "We all knew how Adeola road was before he came and used his influenced and the state government came answering to our cries and today that road is one of the road in the town that we can comfortably pass through"
He also made reference to roads like Awolowo road, Omene road, Laboard road, Lawrence road, Major Bowen road extension "those and other roads Esiso has use his influence to construct and some of them were rehabilitated. We are really grateful for what he has done for us, Benson Okorodudu added".
As Esiso push towards the finishing point by next year, what will he be remembered for? "Numerous, Esiso several parts as a state chairman who made us all benefit from this administration will be remembered. 'The countless numbers of EA's, SSA's, and SA's will certainly be in our thoughts, he made us to understand that government is for the people and for the people" Hon Stanley Eta Eshanomi, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa on Project Monitoring, a.k.a Stanley Boss, said while referring him to the Pastor of PDP (Kingsley Esiso).
"Before his emergence, we use to have three to four SAs and SSAs in Sapele Local Government Area, but today practically every ward can boast of three to four all thanks to Esiso", Mr Rex Ogbakpa said.
Oghre Endurance said that aside biases and political coloration, Esiso has demonstrated an unusual streak of leadership.
"There is therefore the tendency that anything I say is bound to be understood, and speaking from a partisan perspective. I cannot shy away from saying that in all honesty, Esiso has done very well, Endurance added.
"Tell Esiso that for all what he has done, Sapele residents are grateful and as PDP faithful, we hope that in "Sheriff Oborevwori's government, Barr Kingsley Esiso would be carried alongside others leaders who worked tirelessly to ensure victory for the PDP and the law of 'monkey works, monkey chop will remain" Hon Monday Eigbodu said.
