Member Representing Sapele Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Felix Uruemuesiri Anirah has commended the former President General of the UPU, Chief Engr Joe Omene for standing for equity and fairness in the just concluded Gubernatorial election that brought victory to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
Felix Anirah while playing host to residents of Sapele to celebrate Sheriff Oborevwori's victory and appreciate residence for voting PDP candidates said that Chief Joe Omene and the Urhobo nation stood for Oborevwori hence his victory at the poll.
Joe Omene is an elder statesman and well articulated Urhobo Chief, who stood for the truth to ensure equity and fairness. We the Okpes cannot thank him enough, but we want to let him know that we appreciate him for what he has done for the Okpe People.
For those party members who defected because they lack faith and did not believe that the PDP could emerge victorious, I urge them to stay were they are. "If everyone had defected like they did, who would done the work, who would have appealed to the people to vote the PDP". If they must come back, then they must queue from behind, this would serve as a deterrent to those that are in habit of defecting here and there at every little travail, this is my stand, he said.
