The Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe, Oghara has celebrated it's 21st matriculation ceremony on Friday, February 17th, 2023.
The ceremony which was held at Chief James Onanefe Ibori Auditorium, at the Polytechnic's premises was attended by the Polytechnic's Rector, Professor Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, Deputy Rector, Dr. Jacob Edijana Ighere, the Registrar, Efedi Chukwuemeke, the Bursar, Amb. P. Lucas G.O. Onorigho FCA, the Polytechnic Librarian, Professor Mrs B.A. Akporhonor, Deans of Schools, Heads of department, matriculants, students, parents and other dignatries
The School Rector, Professor Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri while addressing the matriculants and all that were present emphasized on the need for students to be focused and devoted to their studies, while noting that education is not a scam and can never be a scam.
Education is a key to sustainable success and development in society. It can catapult one to greater height and used to attain what one cannot achieve through wealth.
I therefore urge you abstain from friends and associates who will lure you from pursuing education and focusing on the reason for which you have gained admission, he added.
The administration of the matriculation oath on the matriculants was administered by the school registrar, after which the rector declared the ceremony closed.
Miss Favour Chigozie, who spoke to news men said; I am very elated today, I have gained admission into the Polytechnic to study and I have promised myself that I will read my book to ensure that I pass my examination and make my parents proud.
