Francis Maku Emerges As President of Sapele Athletic Club

Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Chief Francis Eyituoyo Maku has emerged as the newly elected president of Sapele Athletic Club (SAC).
Francis Maku emerged victorious in an election conducted on Sunday, January 29th, 2023 at the Sapele Athletic Club after pulling 77 votes against his opponent Rotarian Comrade Tony Uba who scored 76 votes.
For the Vice President position, Comrade Ejiro Odebala polled 128 votes to defeat Mr Austin Ivwhigregwheta who got 24 votes.

Murphy Emefe and Douglas Abanum contested for the position of Social Secretary with Murphy emerging as winner with a total of 78 votes, while Douglas got 72 votes.

Omare Stephen lost the position of Treasurer to Joseph Omonria, as both scored 38 and 112 votes respectively.
The position of the bar secretary, sport secretary, general secretary, assistant general secretary, house member and member secretary were unopposed as the candidates were given green light by members of the club.

Chief Maku who was addressing newsmen immediately after he was declared winner by the election committee chairman Chief Godwin Atose, said that his administration would be different.
It is an era of rebranding, I will bring in new ideas to pilot the affairs of SAC. I will work with my executives to take SAC to a higher level. We would run an all inclusive government and accept ideas and suggestions from members that would help us in achieving our goal of rebranding SAC, he said.
Also speaking the newly elected Vice president, comrade Ejiro Odebala expressed his readiness to join hands with the president and trustee to take SAC to a greater height.
The election process was witnessed by Chief Felix Anirah, Hon Member Representing Sapele at the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Eugene Inoaghan, Executive Chairman of Sapele Local Government Area, Hon Austine Ayemidejor, Special Adviser on Entrepreneurship Development to Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, Chief Cyril Ogodo, EA to Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa amongst other dignatries.
