*Ethiope West: Akpanoko moves to reconcile aggrieved party members towards delivering all PDP candidates*

By Stephanie Ikanone Odiete

The Chairman of the reconciliation campaign committee in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief London Owhofasa Akpanoko, the Ugo of Idjerhe Kingdom and Onotugo of Udu Kingdom has began movement to reconcile aggrieved party members in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Chief London Owhofasa Akpanoko made his first call with other members of the reconciliation committee at the home of popular PDP Chieftain, Chief Emmanuel Ighomena.

Chief Emmanuel Ighomena while receiving members of the group, said that he was not aggrieved as he did not contest for any position.
I am a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the party belongs to me, you and all of us, and there is need for us to work and ensure victory for all candidates. I am not aggrieved, I did not contest for any position, he said.

In continuation, he said; I want to state here categorically that leaders of the party should desist from the habit of deliberately offending party faithful. You can't continue to offend people deliberately just because you feel that you will send a reconciliation committee after offending party faithful.

If you don't offend people, then there will be no need to reconcile. I suggest that there should be a strong zoning committee who will ensure that position are rotated amongst individuals, a measure I feel will help to carry everyone along, as it will then kill the need to reconcile when no one is aggrieved.
Again, the attitude of first rewarding and appointing members of the party who won two out of the five candidates election in their unit, when those who won five out of five have not been appointed should stop. It is very annoying that after delivery your party five over five, you will not get any appointment.

I am just stating the facts, but it will not stop me from working for the party, I will work for my party to ensure landslide victory come 2023, he said.

Another chieftain of the PDP who gave his name as Chief Young Afighi thanked the group for coming. I am glad that you have come to see me, PDP is our party and we must do everything to ensure victory. Chief James Onanefe Ibori remains our leader irrespective of what is going on, but young people within the party must endeavor to respect their elders. It is very painful to work for an individual to become a House of Assembly member and after emerging, such an individual will use the same office to oppress you and show you attitude with no respect, he said.
Chief London Owhofasa while responding, thanked both chiefs for receiving them respectively, while noting that all the points they raised were well noted and will be address to avoid repetition of same in the future.
Members of the reconciliation committee who accompanied him include Hon Atueyi Ogheneochuko Isaac, Secretary, Hon Jonhbull Abobo, Chief Edafe Ovbigho, Pst German Okefe, Mrs Happy Otojareri, and Mrs Blessing Dedekimo.
