Hon Justice Obaro Odebala has joined other son in-laws of the late Pa Godfrey Oboyare Inikoro to pay homage and carry out a ceremony known as "in-law greetings".
The in-law greetings is a ceremony that is expedient for all son in-law in honour of the deceased.
It is believe that a certain amount or gift is used by her husband and his family to clean tears from the eyes of the lady (wife) who has lost her father or mother.
Hon Justice Obaro while performing this ceremony, said no amount of money can be used to wipe away the tears from my wife's eyes over the death of her father, but as custom demands it must be done. "My wife has my support and love to wipe away her tears, he said".
Hon Chief Tombra Godspower Akiefa, another of late Pa Godfrey Oboyare Inikoro's son in-law who also participated in the in-law greetings ceremony, said; this is a ceremony that is usually done by most families in Nigeria after the demise of the bride's father or mother, and as a son in-law, I have come to perform my duty.
Pa Godfrey Oboyare Inikoro was a disciplinarian, he was a no nonsense father in-law, our relationship was cordial and he is one man that I had much respect for, he said.
Those who were on ground to witness the auspicious occasion were Chief Ejaife Omizu Odebala, Mrs Odebala, Chief Perkins Umukoro, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, Hon Hope Abijor, Comrade Ejiro Odebala, Hon Francis Okpigben, Chief Aghogho Adibor, Comrade Jasper Isiakpere, Hon Igho Adibor, Hon Blessing Achoja.
