The Executive Chairman of Sapele local government area, Chief Eugene Inoaghan has gifted 30 pupils of the Sapele local government council primary school with free uniforms.
The council boss while addressing teachers of the institution of learning commended them for their efforts and devotion in ensuring that the pupils get the best of learning.
Eugene Inoaghan, while appreciating the teachers for their dedication to work said that; "I know that the cost of living has increased, and it is on this note that I am increasing the salary of Adhoc teachers by 100%, it is not much, but I hope this will spur you to do more, he said.
Eugene Inoaghan while addressing newsmen said that his administration is committed to promoting Education and that is why he choose to invest more in the school and pupils. "When I visited the school recently, I saw some pupils with torn and shabby uniforms, so I decided to make new uniforms for those pupils.
"If we invest in our building and pupils without encouraging those that will impact the knowledge, then it wouldn't be fair, hence I decided to increase the Adhoc teachers salary by 100 percent", he said.
The headmistress, Mrs Ogwara Bridget while reacting to the kind gesture of the council boss said; "Chief Eugene Inoaghan has always been concern with Education, he has continued to invest in the school by providing a conducive environment for learning and adequate facilities, that will facilitate the learning process of the pupils", she said.
Mrs Omamuli Victoria who spoke on behalf of the Adhoc teachers who benefitted from the salary increment thanked Eugene Inoaghan for increasing their salary, "I have been teaching here for years and this is the first time we are receiving a 100 percent increment in our salary, we want to assure the chairman that we will continue to devote our time to impacting knowledge and good values in the pupils, we are very appreciative, she said.
The Uniforms which were presented on Tuesday, October 4th, 2022 by the Supervisory Councilor for Education, Hon Francis Okpigben was greeted with great jubilations from the ecstatic pupils.
Master Emmanuel, a primary four pupils who could not bottle his joy after receiving a free pair of uniform, "shouted chairman Eugene degwo".
