Press Statement

Delta State Government To Commission NUJ Press Centre October 28

This is announcing to our members and the general public, that the Government of Delta State, will on Friday 28th October, 2022, at 9am, commission the Press Centre of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council along Maryam Babangida Way, Asaba.

We are indeed pleased with the Government of Delta State under the able leadership of Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa for this gesture which has become a living legacy to us.

Without trying to be forward until the D-Day when the magnificent edifice will be opened to the world, we want to most sincerely acknowledge the tastefully built Press Centre with state of the art furnishing as one that will indeed, stand out among Press Centres in the whole of Nigeria.

For our members across the State, we welcome you to join us to give honour to whom honour is due by attending the commissioning ceremony as a Congress of the Union.

Therefore, it is expected of every practicing and registered journalist in the State to be available at the official opening of the NUJ Secretariat; and as a matter of importance, attendance of members will be taken.

Once again, we are most grateful for this edifice built for us by the Delta State Government, and we are indeed appreciating God for the gift of this coming day.

Signed:

Comrade Michael Ikeogwu,
NUJ Chairman,
Delta State Council.

Comrade Patrick Ochei,
NUJ Secretary,
Delta State Council.
