Sequel to the election that was conducted to usher in a new leadership that will run the affairs of Sapele Okpe Community that saw Chief Onoriode Temiagin emerging as chairman in the just concluded election. The former chairman of the community in the person of Patrick Akamovba officially handed over the mantle of leadership to Chief Onoriode Temiagin.
The handing over ceremony which was conducted on Monday August 15th, 2022 witness members of the community as the newly executives for various offices were all present.

The former chairman of the community, Dr Patrick Akamovba while addressing the new executives encourage them to be of service to the community and ensure that they perform better than his administration to move the community forward.
He also urge them to build and improve on the existing mou with various companies and organization within the community.

Patrick Akamovba while handing over listed out some of the community properties that was in his possession such as a community bus, a hilux van and others.
Responding, Chief Onoriode Temiagin thanked the former chairman, while noting that some of community properties lying within the community premises were not mentioned by the former chairman, he enjoin him to do the needful by giving full details of community properties that he had received from the past administration and hand same over to the new administration for proper documentation. He further added that whenever the need arises for issue that were not clear to him, he will invite the former chairman to enable him give clear explanation of the situation.

He further reiterated that his administration will build and improve on the past government to move the community forward.

Speaking accordingly Chief Onoriode Temiagin said that his administration will focus on investing in education, welfare package for members of the community, youth development and women empowerment. Continuing, he said that there shall be provision of welfare package for members of the community who are above 70 years of age to assist them with their needs.

Some of the elders and leaders of the community present at the handing over ceremony include Chief Godwin Dadi, Chief Moses Babuba Abeke, Pa Onomor, Chief Moses Ogodo, Hon Ovo Abeke, Hon Harrison Ekeleme and a host of other dignatries.
