Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, the Ugo of Idjerhe Kingdom Chief London Owhofasa Akpanoko has congratulated two female Amazons of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Barr Evelyn Oboro and Hon Mrs Erhiatake Ibori Suenu after they emerge as the flag bearers of the PDP House of Representatives OSU and Ethiope Federal Constituency respectively.

The emergence of the two female Amazon occurred after a rerun Primaries was done on Tuesday May 24th, 2022.

Akpanoko said that women have always been a part of Politics and the emergence of the duo will give other women hope and encourage them to participate in Politics.

He urge both women to carry other women along and set the pace for them to follow.

This is just Primaries, we have the general election to battle with and as flag bearers you must endeavor to reach out to everyone, irrespective of whether they voted for or against you. Reach out to those who contested against you, because you will need their support to emerge victorious at the general elections he added.

Everyone has their personal interest and as party men and women, we must understand this and avoid politics of bitterness just because someone does not support our candidate, but as soon as a candidate emerges we must give our maximum support to such candidate because we are a party and we must endeavor to stay united.

Once again, I congratulate both of you and pray that you bring the dividends of democracy to the people who have sent you to represent them, he added.
