Social Media Practitioners Are Not Trained - Emmanuel Uduaghan

Former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan today said most social media practitioners are not trained personnels.

He pointed out that the social media are more dangerous than the mainstream media.

Dr. Uduaghan who spoke at the NUJ Warri Press Week held in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.
While noting the damages the social media had caused in the society, Dr. Uduaghan urged practitioners in the mainstream media to be objective, factual and professional in their reportage.

He appealed to the Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa led Administration not to concentrate on the media only in Asaba but to recognize those in Sapele, Warri, Ughelli, Isoko axis and other places because, the money you will pay to refute a story is much more than the one you give to the journalists to write the true version initially.
He also enjoined the media houses in the country to pay their staff adequately so as to stop the temptations of being induced.
