Obule, Ayemidejor Confirms Umukoro's Resignation, As Godwin Dadi Emerges as New PDP LGA Chairman of Sapele

Following the resignation of Chief Perkins Umukoro PDP LGA Chairman Sapele, leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Sapele held a crucial meeting on Monday March 28th, 2022 to fill in the vacant seat immediately.

Confirming the resignation of the former Chairman Chief Perkins Umukoro, the party leaders led by Chief Charles Ufuoma Obule while addressing Journalist said that the position of the PDP LGA Chairman is a very important one and cannot be left vacant for a long time especially in a time such as this where election is around the corner, hence the need for the immediate replacement.
Chief Charles Ufuoma Obule speaking accordingly, said it was agreed by leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that the new PDP Chairman be nominated from Urban for the purpose of equity and fairness, since the former was from Urban. In continuation, he said that three names were nominated in the persons of Chief Godwin Dadi, Hon Isaac Okobabala and Dr Austin Arieja and an election was immediately conducted with Chief Godwin Dadi emerging with 12 votes, while Hon Isaac Okobabala and Dr Austin Arieja got no vote. 

He added that a press statement was immediately issued that Chief Godwin Dadi be made to replace Chief Perkins Umukoro and it was duly signed by leaders of Sapele local government area amongst whom are Chief Charles Ufuoma Obule, Hon Chief Felix Anirah, Hon Chief Eugene Inoaghan, Hon Chief Julius Egbedi, Chief Mrs M. Unukegwo, Hon Austine Ayemidejor, Hon Dr. D.O. Oghenekevwe, (JP), Hon Jonathan Amitaye, Alhaji Tanimu Adamu, Mrs Joyce Jemirheri Atiba, Hon Gbubemi Ikomi, and Hon Harrison Ekeleme.

Hon Austine Ayemidejor who spoke in the same vein said that the emergence of Chief Godwin Dadi was in line with the party constitution, adding that he believes Chief Godwin Dadi will be able to pilot the affairs of the party and lead the party to victory in the upcoming elections.
