I Had A Cordial Relationship With My Mother in-law - Chief Mrs Joy Napoleon Gbinije
The wife of Hon Napoleon Gbinije, Chief Mrs Joy Gbinije has described her mother in law, late Mrs Agatha Omaweru Gbinije, who recently passed on, on March 6th, 2022 as a moral and upright woman.
Mrs Gbinije who spoke to Sapele Mirror Newspaper on the passage of the the woman she fondly called Mamalee, said Mama will be greatly missed.
"She was an upright woman who was not only my mother inlaw but a friend, we had a cordial relationship and she was fun to be with. She was a woman who was upright and we were like mother and daughter" the Atete 1 of Okpe kingdom said.
Speaking accordingly Joy Gbinije said that she would miss mama Agatha Omaweru Gbinije for her motherly advise and her special banga soup that she would usually serve as entertainment to her whenever she came visiting.
Also speaking, Mrs Agatha Gbinije, another daughter in-law to Mama Gbinije said Mama was a mother, who stood with the family through thick and thin, and was always there for them, adding that mama was a wonderful cook and disciplinarian.
Another person who spoke was Mama's 5th child, Mrs Beauty Akin Ibiyemi who said mama was the mother of all. "we were close friends and like mother and daughter who were close, each time I come to Warri we would sit down and play together and gist for a very long time, I normally dance for her and we would laugh and laugh, I really miss her'' she added.
Miss Eguonor Madagwa, Mama Gbinije grand-daughter who said mama brought them up, also said that the late Madam Agatha was a wonderful mother who was very close, she was a no nonsense grandmother who believes that "spare tire rod and spoil the child" so she was always sure to enforce discipline whenever it was needed and that has made us a better and responsible adults today,she said. I will miss her for the knock she usually gives me on my head whenever I mis-behave she added.
Meanwhile dignitaries has continue to pour in to visit the Gbinijes' , Frontline Governorship aspirant, and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oberevwori, who visit the Gbinijes' wrote on the condolence register "I commiserate with the Gbinije family over the demise of Mama, may God grant mama eternal rest" the speaker wrote.
The chairman of Burutu Local Government Area, Barr Godknows Angele also wrote "Mama has gone to be with the Lord, we wish the entire family peace, comfort, courage and lots of love at this time of grief"
Olorogun Taleb Tebite who also paid a condolence visit to his brother and friend Hon Napoleon Gbinije has he would fondly call him, wrote: "You were a mother to all. Mummy, we shall all miss you, your humble disposition towards everyone especially". Adieu mama, till we meet to part no more.
The family is yet to pick a date for Mama's burial as dignitaries continues to pour in.
